Welcome to Berkshire Hills Music Academy (BHMA)!

Most young adults interested in post-secondary education are looking for a bridge from home to life. At BHMA, we support the growth of the students in gaining the skills they need to reach their personal goals, including social development, life skills to live more independently, and meaningful participation in the community.

What sets BHMA apart?  We meet the needs of students with a wide variety of disabilities by focusing on their strengths and developing the motivation to meet challenges.  Music engages many areas of the brain.  It unlocks the doors to motivation and attention for our students and the transformation in our students is profound.

Our 40-acre campus is located in the culturally vibrant Five College area in the foothills of Western Massachusetts.  BHMA students build long lasting true reciprocal friendships with peers.  They thrive in a college style living environment where they feel a genuine part of a community. They learn good work habits through field work in human service settings under the supervision of our highly qualified staff.

Please peruse our website and come visit our school to see how students grow in competence and confidence. A quick way to see how BHMA impacts students is to click on the link to our 2008 Video. You can also find out more by registering for our visiting day program called "Prelude”. I encourage you to just call or email me at the admissions office to schedule a visit or to find out more.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Warmest Regards,

“I like Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones. Rock is the type of music that I like and I really like math. I have fun talking to staff and the friendship is good.”
