Programs

The Berkshire Hills Music Academy was established in 1999 through the generosity of a group of founders who believed in our mission and envisioned what a difference our pioneer school could make in the lives of young adults with learning disabilities. Now in its fourth year and growing rapidly, the Academy relies more than ever on the financial support of individuals, corporations and foundations. Donations are needed to support our many exciting and innovative program initiatives. Our contributors help the school in a variety of ways: participating in our fundraising galas, giving to our annual fund, and supporting our capital and endowment campaigns. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Make a gift of cash or appreciated securities to our Annual Fund. Unrestricted gifts support the school's music-infused curriculum and vocational training. Your gift will ensure that we will continue to offer high quality programs to our students, graduates and members of the community. Please also consider doubling your donation with a matching gift; many corporations match their employees' gifts to educational institutions, and it's a wonderful way to leverage additional support for the school.

Honor or remember someone special through our Tribute Fund. This is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or recognize a special occasion while supporting Academy programs and activities.

Make an in kind gift by donating a product, service or item. Contact us for our current wish list.

Invest in our future through making a bequest, life insurance, or trust arrangement. Please consider designating a portion of your estate or establishing a charitable remainder trust or annuity to benefit Berkshire Hills Music Academy. If you are interested in helping the school in this way, please let us know.

Create a lasting legacy through one of our Named Gift Opportunities. There are still a number of areas in the Academy's main building which have not yet been named. In the near future, we will be launching a capital campaign for a new Performing Arts Center to make it possible for the Academy to offer public concerts and outreach programs as well as expand our performance and rehearsal space. A lead gift of $500,000 has already been committed. Help us grow!

Shop online to benefit us.  By visiting our shopping page, you can click through to partnering merchants -- for anything you buy after reaching their website from ours, a small percentage of the purchase price will be donated to BHMA.
