


Dirk Litzner
Music Instructor
Dirk Litzner is a music educator, performer, producer and composer originally from Germany. He has taught for over 20 years in a variety of settings in Germany and the US. As a guitar and keyboard player he has performed widely as a solo artist and with various ensembles across Western Europe and the Eastern US. Dirk Litzner's work as a composer and music editor includes credits on various American Network Television Channels. His music can be heard in variety of shows currently featured on FX, The Discovery Channel, and the History Channel among others. In Germany, Dirk Litzner is a published author of a number of transcriptions for Guitar Ensemble. As a producer and recording engineer running Center Street Sound in Easthampton MA, he has recorded many albums with a variety of artists. Among them are all of the promotional CDs released by BHMA.
Dirk Litzner studied Classical Guitar Performance and Music Pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany, and the Mannes College Of Music in New York. He also completed a Masters Certificate in Music Production at the Berklee College Of Music in Boston.
He has been with BHMA since the very beginning, first meeting many of the students of BHMA's inaugural class as early as 1997 at the Williams Week at Belvoir Terrace in Lenox MA. He has been passionate about BHMA's mission ever since and is thankful for the chance to continue growing together with Berkshire Hills Music Academy and its students, faculty, and families.
