Groovers Performance Manager
Joel Turcotte, Music instructor, has been playing drums since the age of 2. His father was a drummer as well so he has been immersed in music his whole life. Joel attended Holyoke Community College where he got his Associates degree in music performance. He began teaching privately in 2013 out of his home to a few local drummers in the area. The following year he got hired as a drum teacher at the Springfield Conservatory of Music where he is still currently teaching. Joel was introduced to Berkshire hills Music Academy by Mary Ann Holmes, who hired him as a teacher at her own private studio at the time. He began teaching at BHMA only one day a week, giving a couple drum lessons. After a year of being adjunct staff he began full time and is now teaching one of the MHS groups, ensembles, and numerous drum lessons. // On top of teaching Joel is also a performer who practices regularly and is always trying to push himself as an artist. He plays in an original band called "Writing In The Skies" who performs throughout New England, An Allman Brothers tribute band called "Hittin' The Note" and performs with the greatly renown musician Jo Sallins, who also featured Joel on multiple songs off of his upcoming CD/DVD. Joel has a great passion for music and art and has a love for being an educator.
