Director of Life Skills
Katie has worked in human services and special education for over 20 years, working in schools, programs aimed at supporting at-risk youth and families, and as a special education surrogate parent. Katie is passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities to maximize their independence, especially in the area of self-advocacy, helping individuals to identify and attain personal goals with the appropriate supports in place. Katie has lived in the Pioneer Valley with her family for fifteen years, and spends her free time volunteering in the areas of animal welfare, special education, and her local school committee. What especially stands out to Katie about Berkshire Hills Music Academy is the excitement that each student feels about being in our music-infused environment, and how staff members are able to individualize each student’s plans to help them achieve growth across all areas.
