Berkshire Hills Music Academy is a vibrant community offering a post-secondary transition program as well as a long-term graduate program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Set in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, BHMA offers a music-infused, college-like experience via the Two-Year Transition Program for young adults between the ages of 18-30.
Students reside in our dormitory or attend as day students, and participate in a wealth of programming aimed at increasing their independence in the areas of life skills, social skills, and vocation. Many of our graduates choose to remain within our community as members of the LIVE (Long-term Independent Vocational Experience) program. All of our programming is complemented by daily music offerings that engage and motivate our students. BHMA best serves individuals seeking a non-traditional college like program, who have a diagnosis of a cognitive disability, full scale IQ of 50-80, and love of music.
To learn more about Berkshire Hills Music Academy, attend our Open House on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1-3:30pm! This free event will feature a presentation, tour, refreshments, and entertainment by BHMA musicians. Our staff members and currently enrolled students will be available to offer insight about their experiences.
