A Year to Remember: Celebrating 25 Years of BHMA

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible moments and milestones that have made our 25th anniversary a truly unforgettable celebration. From heartfelt performances to inspiring community connections, this year has been a testament to the impact of Berkshire Hills Music Academy and the unwavering support of our participants, families, staff, and friends.
A Year of Celebration Our 25th anniversary festivities kicked off with a commitment to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and looking forward to the future. We hosted two incredible gala events—a Silver Anniversary Gala on our South Hadley campus and the Founders’ Gala in Boston. Each event was filled with music, joy, and shared memories, highlighting the deep impact BHMA has had on so many lives. Special performances by The Capabilities, SHINE dancers, Jazz Ensemble and Bernadette Peters made these evenings even more magical. The celebration continued with our online auction, featuring exclusive memorabilia and exciting experiences generously donated by our supporters. From a signed Jimmy Buffett guitar to unique dining experiences, the auction brought our community together to support BHMA’s mission in a fun and meaningful way.
Strengthening Our Community Throughout the year, we have continued to expand our reach and strengthen our programs. Our Service-Learning Project class took on new initiatives, including creating trail guides and developing pollinator gardens. The BHMA Makers website launched, providing our vocational arts participants with a platform to showcase and sell their handmade work. Additionally, our commitment to sustainability grew, with initiatives like composting coffee grounds and repurposing food scraps for local farms.
Our participants took center stage at major events, including a performance by SHINE at Jacob’s Pillow and numerous concerts that showcased their talents. Their hard work and dedication continue to inspire us all.
We were also thrilled to host our Spring Giving Day, where our community came together to support our mission and make a lasting impact. This special day highlighted the generosity of our supporters and their commitment to BHMA’s future. Additionally, we partnered with Vanished Valley Brewing Co. in Ludlow for a unique brewery beer launch event, bringing people together to celebrate with great music, community spirit, and a special brew crafted in honor of our 25th anniversary.
